RST document destruction allows your business to comply with the Privacy Act 1988, which states that “a record-keeper shall ensure: that the record is protected … against loss, against unauthorized access, use, modification or disclosure, and against other misuse”.
The requirement to maintain documents in a secure manner applies not only to your office, but while documents are in transit to destruction. Imagine if half your filing cabinet fell off the back of a truck, or sensitive papers managed to escape from an unsecured vehicle and onto the highway! This is why we use fully enclosed trucks for all our document destruction.
Confidential documents are picked up at your convenience. RST do not require a contract for confidential document pickup; we keep your business by service, not by contract.
RST supply 240lt wheelie bins that have the lids padlock closed to site. These bins can have slots in the top for easy access or solid if being stored outside dependant on customer requirements. If not located in a secure area we supply chains and padlocks to secure the bins to a permanent fixture.
Our trucks which are securely locked arrive either on prescribed services or as required to remove the bins in their entirety and replace with fresh clean bins. Our bins remained padlocked whilst in transit. The bins are retained in our locked storage at our Bundaberg depot for transit in our own company vehicles to the incinerator.
All our employees have regular police checks and abide with company confidentiality. On arrival at the incinerator the bins are unlocked and emptied into the incinerator in a controlled environment. We believe this gives you, our customer, a greater confidence that the confidentiality of your documents is being maintained to a high integrity.
By using incineration, you can be assured of total destruction and with our processes, less risk of sensitive material being inadvertently exposed to the public. To help you fulfil your legal requirements for confidentiality we supply a certificate of destruction outlining the volume and location of destruction.
If, by law, you can’t just bin it, and there’s too much to shred, RST can handle all formats of confidential documents to be destroyed.

What is the minimum duration for a waste disposal contract with RST?
There are no contractual obligations: You can use our services as little or as often as you need to. You are not bound to us for a specific term, as with many other medical waste and sanitation companies.
My workplace requires a secure waste disposal. Are you able to provide this?
All RST staff hold a current certificate of federal police clearance, enabling us to pick up waste without compromising your OHS and legal obligations.

Do you provide separate pharmaceutical and anatomical waste containers?
As our medical waste containers all get incinerated we only provide a single bin for all clinical waste types. Your pharmaceutical and anatomical waste and sealed sharps containers can go in a single bin to simplify your processes.
